News from the Week

The week’s big news story was a report that Sugar Loaf may open for skiing in 2006. There’s a report in this week’s Enterprise that one lift may open. There was also a report on this year’s Leelanau & Northern Michigan wine grape harvest (looking very good!) and a beautifully written piece by Northport student Rose Petoskey called “What’s in a name” that is HIGHLY recommended reading. Finally, I strongly urge you to read this article about the Farmland Preservation measure and watch the video.
The Week’s Weather

It wasn’t what you’d call ideal fall weather over the weekend, but this week has been great: lots of sun, temps in the 50s and 60s and color getting better by the day!

September 29, 2006: Mostly cloudy, some rain & upper 40s (53Ëš/36Ëš)
September 30, 2006: Mostly cloudy, some rain & 50s (57Ëš/46Ëš)
