News from the Week
The top story was a look at the August 8th primary elections. In addition to a contest for District 2 county Commissioner Republican candidate between incumbent Mark Walter and Michael Anton, next Tuesday's primary elections feature a ballot measure for a proposed $29-per-household fee over the next five years to pay for and expand the county's recycling program. We also have a link to a really neat slideshow of Michigan summer photos along with a soundtrack featuring performers from this weekend's Dunegrass Festival and new wallpaper of a sailboat on Lake Michigan.
The Week's Weather
In a word, the week's weather was hot. In multiple words, it was record-breakingly hot. We saw a high on 100 degrees on Monday and from Friday through Tuesday it was nigh unto unbearable (with a bunch of thunderstorms that somehow did nothing to relieve either the heat or humidity).
