A Hundred Bucks of Gas comes to Leelanau

Filed under: Leelanau,dining,lake michigan,leland,photo,sleepingbeardunes,travel — Andrew McFarlane @ 8:52 am

Late night embers - Jolli LodgeNPR has a nice feature on the recent vacation by a couple radio producers who came to Leelanau County to celebrate their anniversary. They visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes, Jolli Lodge, the Bluebird and do some kayaking on Lake Michigan.

Read/listen to 100 Bucks of Gas: Eating Cherry Pie on the Way to Sleeping Bear from NPR. You can also click the photo to the right for more great photos from Greg Jolliffe.

Thanks Joel (a Jolli Lodge fan) for the tip!

  1. Hi, I am wondering if this fire photo was taken the time there was an event inviting people to come out and have a fire / picnic whatever you wanted. The wood was provided for us and there were quite a few people there. I would love to have the story on this event.. if it was in the paper. I live in Traverse and my dau / dau-in-law and grandkids and I attended this event and loved it. I just cannot recall what it was being called. It was in the fall I believe as it was cool when the sun went down. Can you help with this? thanks Brenda (must have been about 6 yrs or so ago)
