For over 80 years, the Bluebird has been the gathering place in Leland for locals and tourists alike. From the casual 100 seat bar, to the more elegant, scenic dining room on the banks of the Leland River, the Bluebird tradition of excellence is always apparent. Long known for the finest whitefish and perch in Northern Michigan, the Bluebird is constantly striving to raise the level of quality across the board, to include the finest steaks available, our own fresh pasta, wood smoked ribs, and the freshest, flown-in seafood.

The menu contains many timeless favorites, and the nightly specials often consist of cutting edge cuisine that is unmatched in the area. The finest quality wine, beer, and spirits are also a priority. Of course we take great pride in our devoted, trained, professional staff, some of whom have been with us for over 30 years! Legendary Bluebird Whitefish - Bluebird's house specialty since 1927! The finest hand selected Lake Michigan fillets, pin-boned, trimmed, and offered two very delicious ways. Michigan's finest!
Classic Bluebird Style - lightly dusted with seasoned flour, lightly fried to golden brown.
Broiled - basted with our homemade Citrus Butter and broiled to perfection. – 18.99

Fresh Water Yellow Perch Fillets - Lightly breaded 'Bluebird-style' and deep-fried. The fillets are served with Tartar Sauce and Lemon. - 20.99

Walleye Oscar – Hand selected filets are expertly trimmed, dusted with our lightly seasoned flour, and fried Bluebird style, topped with crabmeat, asparagus, and hollandaise. – 19.99

Seafood Platter - Includes, Bluebird Style Whitefish & Walleye, mini-Lobster tail, BBQ Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp, and Tempura Shrimp! 22.99

Bluebird Shrimp Scampi – Large shrimp are stuffed with a garlic/parmesan butter, and baked to perfection. Served on a bed of pasta and fresh tomato concasse. – 18.99

Sea Bass – Fresh cutlets are seasoned, marked on the grill, and served with a fennel compote. – 21.99

Scallops Verjus. Large Sea Scallops are seasoned, seared on hot cast-iron, and basted with 45North Wineries Riesling verjus – 18.99

Chicken Canneloni – Large fresh chicken breasts are roasted, juienned, and tossed with red and yellow bell pepper, garlic, spinach and Boursin cheese, folded into delicate pasta sheets, baked, then finished with sauce alfredo. – 16.99

Chicken Picatta - Tender chicken breast is seasoned, char-grilled, and served over rice with sauce Picatta. - 15.99

Golden Roasted Turkey - Moist, tender, slow-roasted turkey served with mashed potatoes, house-made stuffing and our rich pan-juice gravy! 15.99

Cherry Wood Smoked BBQ Ribs – Pork back ribs are spice-rubbed, smoked over cherry wood, and finished grilled and basted with our house BBQ sauce. – 17.99

Osso Bucco – One pound cuts of veal shank are braised for hours in red wine with tomato, onion, garlic, and herbs. Served over risotto. – 18.99

Filet Mignon* - A choice center cut 7 oz. filet is lightly seasoned and char-grilled to your order. Served on a peppercorn demi-glace. - 21.99

Flat-Iron Steak* – This very flavorful cut grilled to your liking and served with a caramelized shallot demi-glace. – 17.99

Rosemary Rack Of Lamb - An imported New Zealand Rack of Lamb is rubbed with rosemary, garlic, olive oil, and seasonings, lightly grilled then finished to your liking in the oven. Served with classic Bιarnaise Sauce. 22.99

Roast Prime Rib Of Beef - Our reputation for great Prime Rib continues to grow! A hearty 12-ounce portion presented with Au Jus. 18.99

The Bluebird has been at the same location on the Leland River and under the ownership of the Telgard family since its opening in 1923.
