Suttons Bay, TCAPS Explore Options

This week's Leelanau Enterprise confirms reports that Suttons Bay and Traverse City are looking at how Suttons Bay Public Schools could fit into the Traverse City Area Public Schools system. Both districts receive the bare minimum per pupil foundation allowance of $6,700 from the state, levy the full 18 mil non-Homestead property tax allowed under Proposal A and are dealing with shrinking revenue caused by declining enrollment.
