Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything that is beautiful. Welcome it in every face, in every sky, in every flower.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

This week's photos were submitted by The Anonymous Photographer who notes that a phenomenon knows as "guerilla knitting" has arrived in Suttons Bay. Practitioners knit around objects and often leave notes with them like the one above.

According to The Knitted Landscape, it's all about about knitting, art, inspiration, landscape, beauty, humour, nature, photography, imagination ... and making people smile!

  2. What a riot....a warm spot on an otherwise cold and very wintery winter...

  3. In the Enterprise, Eric Carlson writes:

Recent events in the Village of Suttons Bay have reminded me that Leelanau County does not lack for News of the Odd and Quirky.

From a seeming hotbed of weirdness centered within just a few blocks in downtown Suttons Bay this winter have sprung two “movements” whose proponents have clearly been trying to gain our attention here at the Enterprise. Obviously, they have succeeded.

One involves a community activist who is trying to convince her fellow Americans nationwide to join her in a month-long “payment strike” against credit card companies in April “to force much needed, overdue reforms.”

    She’s serious.
