Great Indoor Folk Festival ~ Feb 12, 2012
The 4th Annual Great Indoor Folk Festival takes place this Sunday, February 12 in Building 50 at the Grand Traverse Commons. The festival runs from noon to 5:30, and it is family-friendly and free, though you're encouraged to donate through "busker buckets."

There will be 6 different stages with over 50 musicians on seven different stages.   read more »

Apparently it's YouTube week on Leelanau.com. Nick put together an amazing video of backcountry skiing in the Sleeping Bear that we have to share.

    I loved your video. I live down in Grand Haven, and it is good to see some other backcountry skiers in Michigan. We hit the dunes when there is snow down here too. Check out my blog it is all about Midwest active lifestyle. Sweet video!!

  2. Wow. I really loved this video. I started skiing about 3 years ago; am 37; and am totally in love with the sport. I just got some fat icelantic skis and I'm putting on some AT bindings on. I live in Chicago -- few hills. I would love to just join in the fun! Keep in touch.

  3. Great video. I grew up in Michigan and spent many summers in Leelanau. I now live in Washington state. There is a very vibrant group of backcountry skiers here. Check out this site for great trip reports, pictures, and videos of Northwest backcountry trips:
