News from the Week

The latest area blog we profiled is the new Virtual Recovery Center blog created by Northern Lakes Community Mental Health. Each day for the month of October, a personal recovery story is being added in recognition of National Mental Illness Awareness Month. Other news from the week included reports on the first ever Leelanau indoor farmers market and the District soccer tourney: on Monday Glen Lake topped Traverse City Christian and then advanced to Saturday’s final on a forfeit. Suttons Bay beat Leland (who they shared the Northwest Conference soccer title with) on Monday and then Northport last night.
