Fiber Festival 2008

The Leelanau Community Cultural Center is sponsoring the eighth annual Fiber Festival on Friday, October 10 from 5 to 8 pm and Saturday, October 11 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Old Art Building in Leland. Artists with original fiber art will exhibit and sell their work in mediums of paper, wearable art (clothing), textile bags, weaving, art quilts, fiber sculpture, knits and yarns.

The featured artist this year is Kate Fiebing who will display a collection of costumes and puppets with wearable art, fun hats, upholstery fabric slippers, fiber paintings and other original designed items for sale.

Fiber Festival exhibitors are Brenda Fandrei, knits and crocheted purses; Frances Krupka, quilted wearable art; Linda Kustra, hand knit wearables; Marie Lamothe, art quilts; Krys Lieffers, hand-woven rugs; Ann Loveless, landscape art quilts; Pat McKean, felted bags and jewelry; Krystal Ann Miller, tapestry bags; Majel Chance Obata, handmade paper items and rugs; Chris Roosien, hand-painted yarns; Becky Ross and Julie Funk, boiled wool items; Carol Salerno, hand woven scarves;Terry Tarnow, hand designed scarves and jewelry; Mary Turak, hand knit sweaters; Amy Tyler, handspun yarns and knits; Kristen Underhill Welch, felted vessels; and Jean Wolter, felted hats and purses.
