empire-lumberThe Empire Area Museum will be conducting a series of history nights over the next several Wednesdays at the Empire Township Hall. Each "Big Screen Video" will begin at 7:30 PM and last about one hour. They start TONIGHT and the dates are Feb. 4th, 11th, 18th and March 4th and 11th.

The programs will include, in order: The Big Wheel Story, The History of the American Flag, Empire's Anchor Recovery, the sinking of the Dorsey steamer in Glen Lake, History of the Empire Lumber Co. and Empire's Unsolved Mystery "The Roen Story".

They are encouraging newcomers and old natives to come out, beat the winter blues, meet some friends, munch some popcorn and learn about Empire's heritage. There will be a freewill offering and if you have any questions, you can call Dave at 326-5519.
