Great Indoor Folk Festival ~ Feb 12, 2012
The 4th Annual Great Indoor Folk Festival takes place this Sunday, February 12 in Building 50 at the Grand Traverse Commons. The festival runs from noon to 5:30, and it is family-friendly and free, though you're encouraged to donate through "busker buckets."

There will be 6 different stages with over 50 musicians on seven different stages.   read more »

Cherry Capital Winter WonderFest

Cherry Capital Winter WonderfestThe Third Annual Cherry Capital Winter WonderFest is a four-day outdoor winter festival that takes place February 13-16, 2009. Admission to the majority of festival activities requires the purchase of a $10 festival button with a portion of the proceeds being given to Special Olympics Michigan (kids 10 and under are free). Some highlights:

  • Live Music in Downtown Traverse City, featuring two live bands (Saturday)
  • Frozen Bed Race competition in Downtown Traverse City (Saturday)
  • Outdoor Fun Zone, including games, activities and rides (Friday-Monday)
  • Downhill events at Mt. Holiday (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
  • Polar Plunge, presented by Special Olympics Michigan (Saturday)
  • Carnival Rides, including Ferris Wheel (weather permitting; Saturday and Sunday)
  • Frozen Fish Toss Competition (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Frosty 5K Run/Walk (Sunday)
  • GRAND Chili Cook-off (Sunday)
  • Fireworks Show (Sunday night)
