Suttons Bay Family Holiday Events [12.02.04]
This Sunday (Dec 5) at noon there will be a Bake Sale, Mini-Marketplace & Kid Fun kick off to the Friendship Center's week of Evergreen Revelry. Antlers & Elves features live reindeer at Enerdyne. At 3 PM Leelanau Community Choir presents its annual Christmas Concert. From 4-5 PM Visit jolly Santa in the Silvertree dining room then carol with your neighbors as they turn on the lights of the Village Tree across the street at 5 PM. Weekend Museum Events [12.03.04]
From 10 AM - 4 PM on Saturday (Dec 4) at the Leelanau Historical Museum, local Native American artists working in both traditional and contemporary arts will display and sell their original work. Also, author David Petersen signs his new book, "Loving Leland: A Photographic History by Erhardt Peters" from 11 AM - 3 PM. (museum web site) The Grand Traverse Lighthouse Christmas Open House will be held this Sunday from noon - 4 PM (lighthouse web site).
The Village of Northport [12.06.04]
Anyone who's been following the discussion in the Leelanau Forum is aware that several issues including a new sewer, the closing of Leelanau Memorial Hospital and declining enrollment at Northport School face the village. Traverse City Plan Uncool [12.07.04]
The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports that the proposed plan to use a $100,000 Cool Cities grant to create an entrenprenuerial institute on the 2nd floor of the TC Chamber (and pay for rent & remodeling) has gotten a downright cold reception from state Cool Cities overseers. Northport Holiday Concert [12.08.04]
This Sunday (Dec 12) at 3 PM, the Northport Community Arts Center will host a Christmas Concert featuring the Village Voices & the Northport Community Band. For more information, visit the NCAC web site.
