Make and Take Holiday Decorations in Cedar [December 1, 2005]
From 1-4 PM on Sunday (Dec 4) at the Solon Twp. Hall in Cedar, the entire family is invited to make a variety of ornaments, wreaths, centerpieces, and fun crafts for the kids. Northport Village Council Faces Recall Petition [December 2, 2005]
The Leelanau Enterprise reports that petition language seeking the recall of the village president and all six trustees of the Northport Village Council has been filed with the Leelanau County Clerk. The reasons given for recall involve the proposed Northport Village/Leelanau Township sewer project. Read Recall bid targets all 7 on Village Council. Also see Sewer supporters undeterred.
Forecasting Winter by Caterpiller [December 5, 2005]
The Traverse City Record-Eagle has a feature looking at the effectiveness of folk methods such as bird migration, the bands on woolly bear caterpillars and Rex Dobson's old apple trees in foretelling the strength of winter. BATA Gets First Hybrid Bus [December 6, 2005]
The Traverse City Record-Eagle has a feature on a new hybrid-electric bus bought by the Bay Area Transportation Authority (BATA). The hybrid system allows the bus to be operated for extended periods in electric, "zero emission" mode that is controlled by the driver. Read BATA shows off hybrid prototype.

Family Movie! - The Suttons Bay Chamber of Commerce presents their annual Holiday Movie this Saturday & Sunday (Dec 10 & 11) at the Bay Theatre. The movie is Dreamer and showtimes are 11 AM and 1 PM on Saturday and 2 PM on Sunday with all seats $2! Details from the Bay.
Caroling Through The Village The 1st annual Suttons Bay "Caroling Through The Village" event will be held Sunday, December 11th from 6-8 PM and starts from the lighted Christmas tree (across from the Enerdyne) and wind through downtown neighborhoods singing at various homes. Songbooks and candles will be provided and you'll warm up with free cookies and hot chocolate at the new fire hall.
