Leland Wins Basketball Regionals, Suttons Bay Falls [11.29.04]
In the Class D Regional finals, Leland topped Bellaire 40-24. The Lady Comets meet Portland St. Patrick at 7 PM Tuesday (Nov 30) in the Quarterfinal game. In Class C action, Suttons Bay fell to a tough Charlevoix squad 61-48. More on the Leelanau Sports Page.
Suttons Bay - State Football Runner-up! [11.29.04]
The Suttons Bay Norsemen football team fell just short in the Division 6 state football championship game. The Norsemen were defeated by a tough Constantine team in the title game last Friday (Nov 26) at the Pontiac Silverdome by a 34-13 margin. Congratulations on an amazing season!
Crystal River Purchase Funds Pared Down [11.30.04]
Local papers report that the spending bill passed didn't include the full $2 million Congressman Dave Camp had proposed for the purchase of land along the Crystal River. The total was $1.5 million but the Leelanau Conservancy remains optomistic regarding the purchase. Read a Leelanau Enterprise story and one in the Traverse City Record-Eagle.
Leland Falls in Quarterfinal, Glass All-State [12.01.04]
The Leland Lady Comets Girls Basketball squad were defeated 42-20 by a tough Portland St. Patrick squad last night in the Class D Quarterfinal game. Record-Eagle story. Congratulations on a great year, ladies! Also, congratulations to Alisha Glass, Comet Junior who was named to the Class D all-state girls basketball team.
