Wind Storm! [11.13.03]
Numerous folks (75,000 at last count) were without power around the region as a storm packing high winds (78 MPH gust measured last night by automated NPS equipment in Empire!) moved through. It was the worst power outage in almost 20 years! Read four Record-Eagle stories: this general story, this one about power restoration, this one about being without power and one more general one.

Glen Lake School Agreement [11.14.03]
This week's Leelanau Enterprise reports that a tentative contract has been reached between Glen Lake school and the teacher's union. Read the story.

Ray Kamalay & His Red Hot Peppers [11.17.03]
The Northport Community Art Center welcomes jazz favorites Ray Kamalay & His Red Hot Peppers this Saturday (Nov 22) at 7:30 PM. Call 386-5001 or visit the NCAC web site for more info.

Girls Basketball Districts [11.18.03]
In Class C Districts last night at T.C. St. Francis, Suttons Bay topped Mesick 71-45 while Glen Lake fell to St. Francis 47-26. Round 2 pits the Norsewomen against Fife Lake-Forest Area (Nov 19 @ 6 PM). Class D Districts start tonight at Leland. Northport faces Leland at 6 PM and St. Marys meets T.C. Christian at 7:30. The final is Thursday (Nov 20) at 7 PM. Read more on the Leelanau Sports page.

In Class D Districts last night, Leland topped Northport 51-37 and St. Marys defeated T.C. Christian 56-29. The final is Thursday (Nov 20) at 7 PM at Leland. Round 2 of Class C Districts pits the Suttons Bay against Fife Lake-Forest Area (Tonight, Nov 19 @ 6 PM). Read more on the Leelanau Sports page.
