Alloy Orchestra Shows [10.16.03]
The world famous Alloy Orchestra will be at the Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay this Saturday (Oct 18). The three-man group plays original compositions to enhance classic silent films. At 6 PM will be The Black Pirate (Douglas Fairbanks) with The General (Buster Keaton) playing at 8 PM. More at the Bay Theatre and AlloyOrchestra.com.
Petition for PDRs [10.17.03]
This week's Leelanau Enterprise reports that a petition signed by over 50 members of the farming community requesting a public vote on funding purchase of development rights (PDR) for active farmland was presented to County Commissioners on Tuesday. By a 4-3 vote, commissioners removed the issue from the agenda. Read the story.
Leelanau Players "Die Like a Dog" [10.20.03]
The Leelanau Players will present Die Like a Dog in the Middle of the Road written by Leland playwright Rebecca Reynolds at the Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay. Performances are Oct 24 & 25 at 8 PM, October 26 at 3 PM and Oct 30 & 31 and Nov 1 at 8:00 PM. Morning Skies [10.21.03]
Before dawn on Wednesday (Oct 22) sky watchers can see Jupiter, which will have a close encounter with the cresent moon, Saturn, and a small meteor shower produced by Halley's Comet. More from Science@NASA.

The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports that Cherryland Conference winner Suttons Bay will face Elk Rapids tonight (Wed, Oct 22) at Suttons Bay. The Norsemen advanced by defeating Benzie Central 4-0. Leland also squares off against Northport. Read the story.
