Leelanau News on Vacation! [Aug 25, 2005]
We won't be posting any news until Tuesday, August 30th as we enjoy Pictured Rocks, Grand Marais, Michigan and this really cool concert featuring Seth Bernard, Daisy Mae, and Dominic Suchyta (of Steppin' In It and Greg Brown. Here's a couple of photos of Chapel Rock!
Tour de Leelanau Bike Race [Aug 30, 2005]
The Leelanau Enterprise reports that Leelanau County will host the biggest bicycle road race in the state on September 17 with the inaugural Tour de Leelanau*. The 77-mile course starts in Leland and ends at Peshawbestown and organizers are seeking lots of volunteers. Read Bikers in the spotlight and visit tourdeleelanau.com. *Long-time area bikers know that this is not strictly true.
Leelanau Labor Day Bridge Walks [Aug 31, 2005]
The annual Leland walk starts promptly at noon on Labor Day (Sep 5) from the DNR Launch Site just east of the Bluebird and concludes on the lawn of the Old Art Building with lemonade, cookies and a certificate for the participants. You can also walk the Glen Lake Bridge at "The Narrows",
starting at the North end, by On The Narrows Marina starting at noon.
