Ballpark Plans Draw Opposition [08.21.03] The Leelanau Enterprise reports that plans for a 3,700-seat stadium in Elmwood Township were submitted and drew criticism from adjacent property owners. Boardman River Jam [08.22.03] The River Jam Music Fest will be held this Sunday (Aug 24) from noon into the evening. The event is designed raise awareness about the Boardman River Watershed and features free concerts on two stages by some great area acts, lots of educational and children's activities, kayak demos, wine tasting, prizes and a whole lot more. Labor Day Bridge Walks [08.26.03] If the Mackinac Bridge is too daunting a walk, why not try one of Leelanau's two bridges? The Leland walk starts in the Blue Bird parking lot at noon on Labor Day (Sept 1). You can also walk the Glen Lake Narrows Bridge on Monday starting at the north side at 11:30 AM. Shielding Tree Barn Sale [08.27.03] The Shielding Tree Nature Center on Port Oneida will hold a barn sale this Saturday & Sunday (Aug 30 & 31) from 9-5.
