Stealing More Than Money [08.12.04] While crime reporting isn't something we typically do, today's Leelanau Enterprise has a disturbing bit of news regarding thieves hitting Sonny Swanson's produce stand near Sugar Loaf. For years and years, the stand with its "drop your money in the box" policy has been a fixture and it'd be a real shame if Leelanau becomes a place where trust like this is no longer possible. Read the story. President Bush to Visit Traverse City [08.12.04] President George W. Bush became the first sitting President to visit Traverse City since Gerald Ford appeared in the Cherry Festival in the 70s when he spoke at the Civic Center on Monday, August 16th. The Traverse City Record-Eagle has a report on event. Green Building Workshop [08.16.04] This Friday & Saturday (Aug 20 & 21) Harmony Home Construction will hold a green building workshop in Northport. The workshop starts at 9 AM both days. Band & County Work on New Agreement [08.17.04] The Leelanau Enterprise has a report that Leelanau County & the Grand Traverse Band are working on a new Intergovernmental Agreement.
