Full "Herb Moon" Walk [July 21, 2005]
Retired Professor of Astronomy Bob Elliott will lead a full moon walk TONIGHT (Jul 21) at 8:15 at the Shielding Tree Nature Center. Please call 334-7649 for details and to register or visit the Shielding Tree web site.

Art Leelanau Sale & Exhibition [July 22, 2005]
The Leelanau Community Cultural Center's annual benefit art sale and exhibition will feature over 90 Leelanau artists. The opening night gala is next Saturday (Jul 30) from 5-8 PM featuring an art exhibition, live music and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets are $25 or $30 at the door. The exhibit continues at the Old Art Building in Leland July 31 thru August 3 from 10 am to 5 pm daily. Old Art Building web site.

Leelanau Players present The Boyfriend [July 25, 2005]
The Leelanau Players, along with the Northport Community Arts Center (NCAC)., will present the musical theater production of The Boy Friend. Performances are July 29-30 and August 5-6 at 8 pm and a matinee at 3 pm on July 31 and Aug 7 at the NCAC. For more info, visit the Leelanau Players web site.

Traverse City Film Festival [July 26, 2005]
The inaugural Traverse City Film Festival will be held Wednesday though Sunday (Jul 27-31) and features panel discussions, a great lineup of critically acclaimed films at the State Theatre, Old Town Playhouse and City Opera House as well as classic movies shown (for free) on a floating screen at the Open Space on Grand Traverse Bay. Port Oneida Fair [July 27, 2005]
The 2005 Fair, a celebration of rural arts & culture, will be held next Friday & Saturday (Aug 5 & 6) in the Port Oneida District of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. This annual event features exhibits/demonstrations (blacksmithing, barn building, weaving, Civil War Re-enactors, many more) as well music, dance and storytelling over two days at five farms.
