Cedar Polka Fest [07.05.01]
Cedar's celebration of its Polish heritage kicks off tonight. It's billed as "4 Big Days of Continuous Polka Music, Dancing, Food, and Beverages" and they aren't lying. There's also a parade on Saturday, July 7 at noon. Learn more right here!
Unseasonal News [07.06.01]
The Detroit Free Press reports on plans to construct an ice structure this winter in Hancock (on the Keweenaw Peninsula). The building will house a coffee and sweets shop and an art museum. Complete story in the Freep.

Historical Performance [07.10.01]
"Aral: A Folk Opera" will be performed at the Michigan Legacy Art Park at Crystal Mountain on Friday, July 13, 2001 at 7 PM. It is an adaptation of an 1889 incident in the now vanished town of Aral which was located on the Benzie-Leelanau county line. Click here to learn more.
Concert at the Dunes [07.11.01]
Song of the Lakes will perform with a string quintet from Interlochen Arts Academy and will collaborate on several pieces. The show will take place at the foot of the Sleeping Bear Dune Climb near Glen Arbor at 7:30 PM this Sunday (July 15th). More about Song of the Lakes.
