Round Goby Arrives [06.25.04]
The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports that students with the Inland Seas Education Association netted some small gobies on West Grand Traverse Bay. The round goby is an invasive fish that is expected to damage perch and other fish populations. Read the story.

Fourth of July [06.29.04]
Leland will kick off the county Independence Day celebrations with fireworks on Saturday night (Jul 3). Glen Arbor will hold their Fourth of July Parade at noon. Leland will have bike decorating at 11 AM and kid's games from noon to 1 PM at Hancock Field and their parade at 3 PM. Northport will close it out with music and fireworks at Marina Park on the evening of the 4th.
