Glen Lake & Suttons Bay Consider Sharing [May 26, 2005]
The Leelanau Enterprise reports that officials of Glen Lake Community Schools and Suttons Bay Public Schools are considering sharing a superintendent and a business manager in the coming school year. Options being considered by the Glen Lake board include having a interim shared superintendent or launching a full scale search for a superintendent who would serve Glen Lake. Leelanau Gets Ready for Memorial Weekend [May 27, 2005]
The Leelanau Enterprise reports on the efforts and feelings of area businesses and campgrounds as they get ready for a big weekend. Interestingly, this year, no Michigan park, campground or visitor area will receive money from the state's general fund, causing DNR facilities to rely on visitor and other fees to pay bills. Habitat Building Project in Leelanau County [May 31, 2005]
Beginning on June 15, the Jimmy Carter Work Project will work for 9 days to build four Habitat for Humanity homes in an Elmwood Township subdivision. Volunteers are being sought for rough carpentry as well as siding and finish carpentry. They also need help with some non-construction activity.
