Beechnut Review Turns 10 [Apr 21, 2005]
The Beechnut Review, a literary magazine produced by Leland High School students and teacher Mark Smith has posted its 10th Anniversary Edition. Congratulations on 10 great years of student writing.

Dunegrass Festival Uncertain [Apr 22, 2005]
The Leelanau Enterprise reports that organizers of the Sleeping Bear Dunegrass & Blues Festival will have to turn it into a one-day event and come up with a new location due to conditions imposed by the Empire Village Council. Read Dunegrass hopes up in air in the Enterprise.

Exposures 2005 Reception & Exhibit [Apr 25, 2005]
This Friday (Apr 29) from 5-8 PM at the Old Art Building in Leland there will be an opening reception with student bands, hors d'oeurvres, readings, and art exhibition for Exposure Magazine, a county-wide student publication. The exhibit of student work continues on Saturday (Apr 30) from 10 AM - 5 PM. For more info, call 256-2131 or visit oldartbuilding.com.

Northern Michigan Wineries Drawing Visitors [Apr 26, 2005]
mLive.com had a Sunday feature touting Old Mission & Leelanau County wineries and predicting big things for wine related tourism in the coming years. Read Northwest wine region continues to grow from mLive.com.

Three Leelanau County Cleanup Days [Apr 27, 2005]
The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports on three upcoming cleanup projects. A junk cars, appliances and scrap metal cleanup runs May 1 - September. On May 21, county residents can bring computers, printers, televisions and other electronic devices to an electronics recycling collection in Suttons Bay from 9 AM - 2 PM. June 25, a household hazardous waste collection will be held in Suttons Bay from 9 AM - 2 PM. Read Residents get three chances to clean up in the Record-Eagle for details & contact numbers.
