Wind Energy Workshop [Feb 17, 2005]
Michigan is the 14th windiest state in the nation and the Paw Paw Courier Leader reports that a MSU Extension wind energy education program focussing on small wind systems that generate energy for farms and homes (and funding opportunities available through the U.S. Department of Agriculture) will be held from 8:30 AM - Noon next Tuesday (Mar 22) at the Northwest Michigan Horticultural Research Station. Good Neighbors [Feb 18, 2005]
The Leelanau Enterprise reports that one of the of the biggest supporters of relocating the county seat to Suttons Bay Township may now benefit from its move right next door. The agreement wil provide an easment to Dean Robb (who has announced a 117-home project on the adjacent parcel to be called "The Pathways") and commissioners consented to explore providing water service to the development. Administrative Pay Freeze at Glen Lake [Feb 21, 2005]
The Leelanau Enterprise reports that Superintendent John Scholten and the Glen Lake administrative staff are the first in the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District (TBAISD) to agree to a pay freeze for the upcoming school year. Full Moon Walk [Feb 22, 2005]
This Friday (Mar 25) at 7 PM, Shielding Tree Nature Center will host an evening walk to look and listen for signs of spring by the light of the Sugar-Sap Moon. To register, call 334-7649 and you can also visit the Shielding Tree web site for more!
