Glen Arbor Winterfair [Feb 10, 2005]
The Glen Arbor Winterfair will be held next Saturday (Feb 19) and features a Perch Fishing Contest (registration at the Sportsman Shop) and a Chilifest on the deck at Boone's (Noon til it's gone). Both events are sponsored by the Glen Arbor Chamber with proceeds going to their scholarship fund.
Chocolate That Sings in Your Mouth [Feb 11, 2005]
The Leelanau Enterprise has a nice feature on Grocer's Daughter Chocolate, a business venture by Mimi Wheeler & Carlene Peregrine that sells herb-infused dark chocolate truffles. Read the Enterprise story.

Blues at the Bluebird [Feb 15, 2005]
This year's Blues at the Bluebird will be held next Saturday (Feb 26) and features Jimi "PrimeTime" Smith and Blazin. The event includes buffet dinner from 6:30-7:30 PM with the show at 8. The show benefits the Leelanau Conservancy and always sells out -- call the Conservancy (256-9665) to reserve your tickets.
Boardman River Dams to be Decommissioned [Feb 16, 2005]
The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports that the Traverse City Light & Power board has decided it's too costly to continue generating hydroelectric power and will decommission three Boardman River dams (Brown Bridge, Boardman and Sabin dams).
