Stay with us at the Homewood Cottage Association... a small, furnished cottage vacation get-away nestled in a wooded setting just inside the village limits of Northport, 26 miles north of Traverse City. Located at the tip of the beautiful Leelanau Peninsula, Northport is a village reminiscent of a quaint, New England fishing town, complete with its own large municipal marina, boat launch, and picnic area with gazebo. Also enjoy our sandy-bottomed public beach and shoreline with volleyball and a wonderful children's playground. All this is overlooking the turquoise blue waters of the Grand Traverse Bay! The friendly "locals" just recently celebrated Northport's 150th Sesquicentennial birthday and you may visit the museum that has fabulous paintings depicting its unique history.The Homewood Cottage Association is a place where you can enjoy a breath of fresh air and tranquility while still remaining within three to four strolling blocks of the village antique, gift, and dress shops, superb eateries, grocer, art studios, public recreational areas w/skate park & tennis court, public health & fitness center w/indoor pool, and all the other aforementioned village amenities. In fact, with the abundant scenic backroads and hiking trails in the area, you virtually have the whole of this pristine, scenic peninsula at your finger tips! Just jump into your car or onto your bike and the scenic beauty of the best Lake Michigan shoreline parks are only minutes away! Your night life can consist of a warm, cozy evening around the campfire, a rousing good time at a village pub, a visit to a show at the Leelanau Sands Casino, or all three! We make it as easy as we can for you here at the Homewood Cottage Association. We provide clean, cozy, one and two bedroom, furnished housekeeping cottages with kitchenettes, bathrooms w/showers, fireplaces, ceiling fans, and patios w/natural gas grills. There is also a common-grounds picnic area with horseshoes and a large campfire pit. One OF OUR COTTAGES IS HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE AND BARRIER FREE!! Our furnished cottages are supplied with one set of sheets for each bed and one set of bath towels per guest in your reserved party (bring your own beach towels, please!),with extra sheets and towels available upon request for a small fee. We also supply the basic pots, pans, silverware, dishes, toasters, coffee pots, refrigerators, stoves, and color televisions with cable. Most have microwaves and VCR's also! If there's anything else you need please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you! IMPORTANT NOTE: Our cottages are situated on approximately 2 wooded acres and their proximity to each other makes them an ideal choice for family reunions or group gatherings of up to 28 people.
