Every year the Museum features a special exhibit that brings visitors closer to a specific aspect of the history of the Leelanau Peninsula, and we offer ongoing exhibits as well.
But the Leelanau Historical Museum is more than an exhibit hall. LHM is engaged in a school education programs, documentation projects, as well as the traditional museum role the care and preservation of artifacts. Our extensive archives, which include photographs, letters, manuscripts, governmental records and newspapers, are available to historians by appointment. The LHM Oral History Project continues to record our history through the memory of those who were there and the tapes are available at our Listening Center.
