D.H. Day Campground

Image from NPS - Sleeping Bear Dunes National LakeshoreD.H. Day Campground is open from spring to fall on a first-come, first-served basis. It is located near the Dune Climb, the museums and Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive. D.H. Day is 88 private sites with water and vault toilets as well as easy access to beaches on Lake Michigan. During the peak season you can join in Campfire Programs. Rangers give nightly programs at the amphitheater right inside the campground.

You will need to purchase a park pass since D.H. Day is part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Those are available at the Ranger office in Empire or at the entrance to the campground. Camping is limited to 14 days and a fee is charged. Groups can reserve campsites at a group camp ground area near Glen Lake picnic by calling the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore at 1-800-365-CAMP.
