Artist Connie Cronenwett focuses her painter’s eye on the Lake Michigan shore, sky and woodland in a group of new works at Center Gallery/Lake Street Studios, 6023 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor. The show opens Sept. 3 with a 6 p.m. public reception.
“Shorelines, especially along Lake Michigan, are rich sources of imagery,” said Cronenwett, a retired high school art teacher from Livonia. Working in oil and pastel. she creates detailed, close-up portraits of the area’s woodlands as they move and expand toward the shoreline and lake.
