An exhibition of Holly Sorenson’s sculptural weavings and constructions opens Aug. 27, Center Gallery at Lake Street Studios, 6023 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor.
Bringing a sense of movement and three-dimension to flat, hand woven cloth is the focus of “Fiber Expressions.” Sorenson, an Empire resident, weaves her base fabrics, hand dyes them, then manipulates the cloth into rolling, tied and waving shapes.
