North Manitou Island Cemetery Database, Info & Photos by Larry Bratton.

I found a register of names of those individuals whom were buried in the Cemetery. The names were wood burned onto a wooden Plaque displayed as a sign at the cemetery.

I only found burial spots for about 10 people from the total list below. I assume that the other individuals were either buried in unmarked graves or had flat stones, which were covered up by sand and growing shrubs. There was one stone, which was hard to read. I was instructed by the Park Ranger not to use any stone writing enhancing chemicals or shaving cream since the cemetery in part of the Sleepy Bear Sand Dunes National Park. The Park Ranger could not give me any additional information about the cemetery.

The cemetery has no name. I will call it the "North Manitou Island Cemetery".
