We are proud of our extensive wine list, chosen to showcase the finest wines of the world, especially the vibrant, outstanding, aromatic whites from Leelanau and Old Mission, to compliment your meal at the Bluebird.

Please note: All of our wines are available for take-out at reduced prices. Also, due to recent changes in Michigan Law, we can now re-cork your wine should you not finish your bottle, and you can enjoy the remainder at home, or better yet, on the beach. WHITE WINES BY THE GLASS
NV Good Harbor Fishtown White - Leland - Deliciously fruity, semi-dry white made from chardonnay, seyval blanc, and vignoles. Great with our Whitefish and other mild dishes. – 5.

’10 Verterra Unwooded Chardonnay – Leland – This debut vintage won Gold at the State wine competition, showing lush citrus, pear, and apple notes in a supple, yet bright, delicious wine, great with whitefish. – 6.

’10 Bowers Harbor Riesling – Medium-Sweet – Old Mission - Vibrant, lively, aromatic white, with floral scents and a semi-sweet style. Loads of tropical/citrus flavors, great foil with hot or spicy food, fresh fish, or by itself. – 6.

’10 Verterra Pinot Gris - Leland – The inaugural vintage from this rolling vineyard near Northport, crisp yet lush fruit, with bright lemon, melon, apple, and mineral hints, great with fresh fish dishes, delicious! – 6.

‘11 Chat. Fontaine Pinot Gris - Lake Leelanau - Fresh, delicious pear and citrus fruit flavors, with hints of minerals adding complexity, make this a perfect partner with seafoods. – 6.

’09 Banrock Station Chardonnay- Australia – Clean, forward tropical fruits and nice balancing acidity, make for a fine, pure, chardonnay with no oak, great with food. A great value from Australia. – 5.

‘09 Redcliff Sauvignon Blanc - Marlborough, New Zealand - Bracing aromas of crushed grapefruit, hint of fresh herbs, dry and delicious on the palate, perfect with shellfish and other seafoods. A great dry summer wine. – 5.

‘09 William Hill Chardonnay – Central Coast, Cal. – Lush and full bodied with classic pineapple, pear, vanilla and oak flavors lending balance amid bright acidity. – 8.

RED WINES BY THE GLASS
2011 Verterra Pinot Noir Rose’ – Refreshing wine, this well-chilled rose’ is medium-sweet with hints of rose petal aroma and very subtle strawberry and cherry on the palate. Pairs well with fish and spicy cuisine, or as apertif. – 6.

’10 Chat. Grand Traverse Gamay Noir – Old Mission – The grape of Beaujolias makes an extraordinary red here in N. Michigan, with lovely ruby color, raspberry and strawberry flavors and a distinctive spicy complexity, good with steak, BBQ, or richer fish and poultry dishes. – 6.

’09 Santa Rita “120” Cabernet Sauvignon – Valle Central, Chile – Bright, brambly Cabernet with medium bodied dark cherry and raspberry flavors, good with meats or cheeses. – 5.

’09 Steltzner Vineyards Claret – Napa Valley, Ca. – A big rich, yet classically styled Napa Cabernet blended with 20% Merlot and 12% Cab Franc, this has lush dark fruit, yet firm structure and balance. – 7.

‘08 Salmon Creek Merlot - California - Lush, ripe Merlot with soft texture and mild tannins. Just plain delicious with food or without. – 5.

‘09 Castle Rock Pinot Noir – California – Ripe, lush cherry flavors in a medium bodied beauty from Sonoma. Great by itself, but delicious with beef, pork, and richer fish dishes. – 6.

’09 Clifford Bay Pinot Noir – Marlborough, New Zealand – Bright floral cherry scents, firm acidity, and luscious fruit define this cooler climate Pinot Noir. Great with meats and richer fish dishes. – 7.

‘08 Tapiz Malbec – Mendoza, Argentina – From a variety of high altitude Mendoza vineyards, this has dark blackberry and raspberry flavors and aromas, scents of oak, and a lush texture. – 7.
