Leelanau Fire Department Recruitment Day
The Leelanau Enterprise reports that a recruitment day designed to answer questions about how to become a firefighter and what firemen do is scheduled for this Saturday (Sep 27) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the VFW Hall.
“To my knowledge, this is the first time the departments have been so proactive in helping the public learn more about how to become involved,” said Mike Fandel, chief of Leland Township Fire and Rescue.
Fandel said the event was open to all departments in the county, will include participants from Cedar’s Solon-Centerville Township Department, Leland/Lake Leelanau, Northport and Suttons Bay/Bingham.
