For example, planned subdivisions are large areas with nothing but houses. No stores, no community centers, no ball fields - just houses. The opposite of planning is chaos. Chaos is necessary to insure a robust and vigorous community. Planning is like in-breeding, which leads to genetic weakness. The Grand Visions plan is flawed because the best plan is a chaotic one.
