Black Earth is a professional company committed to the creation,
performance, and production of concert and site-specific based original
works. The company aims to engage community involvement in the Arts. Its
mission is to stimulate community participation in the creative
performance process by integrating young, old, amateurs, and
professionals from all walks of life.
Black Earth Collaborative Arts' site-specific and theatre performance works are inspired by environmental, political, and social issues. Working collaboratively, the company believes in creating new perspectives, questioning the familiar and probing the unfamiliar as a means to inspire and elevate individual awareness. This process employs art as a living record of human response to prevailing customs and beliefs. Workshops and seminars are conducted and designed to foster exploration of the same process.
Black Earth Collaborative Arts Company is a non profit organization located in Northern Michigan and is currently seeking underwriting for the purchase of a space for its home and future performances.

The Company's first endeavor, Tending Ahead, was an original performance of dance, music and poetry rooted in human evolution.
